2016 Curtis Limited Series Grenache, McLaren Vale

The new faces behind the Curtis Family Vineyards are Mark, Thomas & Jenna Curtis, with the guidance of their father, Claudio Curtis who lives on the vineyard just outside McLaren Vale. The name Curtis is thought to derive from Curtius, a noble and wealthy family of the First and Second Centuries AD, the Roman Empire era originating from the Latinium people. 

The Limited Series McLaren Vale Grenache is a rich brick red in colour. Bursting with raspberry and cherry aromas. Complex palate of ripe raspberries and cherry hints of spice. Great middle palate sweetness with well integrated French oak provides generous vanilla overtones. Finishing well balanced with silky tannins.

A thoroughly intimidating wine, built in heroic style. The fruit is dialled up to maximum, tannins and oak draped over its full body. It's a legitimate style, abounding with fresh fruits from its 100yo vines.
